After years of messing about, I have now been able to get the IR to admit they have made a mistake trying to recover an overpayment from me. Infact, it turns out they owe me for 18 months of missed payments which they have promised to pay. My MP REALLY helped with this!
This was back in April... and I am still waiting. My MP, Andy Burnham, has been in touch with them and given them a serious b*ll**king and they claim they are having a problem with their computer system. Yeah right!
It is simple for them to work out, pay me 3 times the amount they where trying to recover (which was 6 months payments).
If you are trying to stop recovery and you definitely are in the right, GO TO YOUR MP and I am sure they will sort it. The IR seem to sh*t their pants when they get invloved.
