Just to remind everyone that TCC is still requesting a meeting with Dave Hartnett, HMRC's permanent Secretary for Tax, who oversees Tax Credits, and ... whoever is currently New Labour's Financial Secretary to the Treasury (the last known incumbent of that post was Stephen Timms, but the postholder seems to change as regularly as the Defence Against the Dark Arts Master in Harry Potter's Hogwarts, and commonly to be as ill-fated, if the disillusioned and newly-resigned Jane Kennedy is anything to go by).
Apparently, the Ministerial Correspondence Unit is "currently looking into the issues" raised and there will be "a full reply as soon as possible". This letter was dated 15th June 2009 in response to a request to meet dated 16 April.
Members can help by writing to their MPs and HMRC urging that this meeting takes place.
This was so tax credit overpayment recovery injustices could be brought before them, as both men were talking the talk of wanting the system to be fair, but not exactly walking the walk.
Will update you all as to progress with this.
Morpheus: I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it.
