I would only say that this is HMRC's official "take" on things. If your situation resembles one of the "stories" in that pack, it doesn't necessarily mean your ultimate fate will. There could be valid reasons for some deviation from "the rules" and so don't despair. If you've been honest but they have messed up, it is always worth aiming for that full, not a partial, write-off. So don't let this leaflet necessarily put you off.
