We have a long running *overpayment* dispute. Many similar problems to others mentioned on this website. At one stage, a year or so back, HMRC attempted to withdraw large (4 figure) sums of money from my bank account - without warning. The transactions bounced and I advised my bank not to allow any further debits by HMRC. I maintain that this could have been fraudulent and that it was illegal.
Has this happened to anyone else?
