Hi,
I really could do with some advice on what to do next please if anyone can help. Last year, September, my husband and I separated and he moved away to live with someone else. So I ended our joint claim at that exact time and started a single claim for me and my three children. After alot of counselling sessions my husband and I would very much like to get back together and for him to move back in with us. After reading all of these horror stories on here I am not sure of what to expect off the TCO if it is as this happens and we inform them of our intentions of living together again. Does anyone know of any similar cases where anything like this has happened?

Hi sweatypie
Welcome, we seem to be having a run on this situation recently. Your single claim will end and you will be required to make a new joint claim.

See link below for sim situation.

Hi Sweetypie - your reconciliation is great news, and if fear of the mess the tax credit system is in is holding you back in any way, this shows just what a mess the system is in! I do think your relationship and future happiness comes first, however - although the last thing you want if you are starting again is massive money worries. Bit of a Catch 22, I am afraid. But check the other, similar thread, and hopefully you will feel able to go ahead with your plans and tell the Tax Credit Office. Good luck!

Oh dear, sorry sweetypie. I guess you are just like the rest of us, cold sweats when thinking about HMRC.
