Donations will help us raise TCC's profile and pursue legal action, whether it be a test case or judicial review.

The TCC is run by dedicated volunteers used to shouldering all running expenses, so any donations will be used thoughtfully to the best advantage of TCC'

Here's how:

We are now official! We are now an Unincorporated Organisation with a constitution (available upon request) and a governing group of officers, chair, treasurer and secretary. We will shortly be compiling a detailed list of voting members of the organisation - please email me to be included either through a PM or via sarah@taxcreditcasualties.org.uk

As an Unincorporated Organisation we have been able to open a bank account and can now accept donations. Bank details will be available shortly for those who would like to pay money directly into the account. Alternatively cheques made payable to Tax Credit Casualties can be sent to Treasurer, Tax Credit Casualties, 95 Clough Road, Rotherham, S61 1RG. Emailed or posted receipts can be provided upon request and donations can be made anonymously.

With thanks to Sarah and PJ for making this happen.

Now we need volunteers to:

- draft a request we can send out for contributions
- use their creativity to see which Celebs might be up for helping us out
- find out where the philanthropists are!

Our Campaign... your campaign... your success. Let's work together to get the justice we all deserve!

Anyone can make a donation - it doesn't have to be huge, as whatever you can afford will mount up!

Up until now, TCC has been funded by a few core members - from their own pockets. Unfortunately, as we are all tax credit overpayment victims, these pockets aren't that deep. This year we became an unincorporated organisation, and we are able to accept donations. Please note that we do not draw salaries or any form of payment, and that donations received will be used only for campaigning and the associated costs. We still do our utmost to pay costs as we go and only use the donation funds when essential.

If you would like to make a donation, no matter how small, please visit You must be logged in to see this link.

If you prefer to send a cheque, please make your cheque payable to Tax Credit Casualties, write your address on the back, and post to:

Tax Credit Casualties,
95, Clough Road,
Rotherham,
S61 1RG.

Once again, thank you for your donation - we really do know how precious every pound is!

Just in case there are any wealthy philanthropists reading this, please consider supporting Tax Credit Casualties - 8 million claims are in overpayment at any one time, forcing an estimated 16 million children into poverty. We need to fund a Judicial Review as a matter of urgency.

We have done the research and identified the legal issues - Human Rights breaches and Corporate Negligence - but just need the funds to pursue the legal action which will ensure we finally have justice.

Thanks!

WE NEED DONATIONS FOR LEGAL ACTION!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

We have two high profile tax lawyers who have offered to undertake cases on a pro bono basis, but in the event of HMRC winning we would need a minimum of £15k to cover their costs if these were awarded.

Being able to pursue legal action would be a major Campaign boost, and we could then create legal precedent even if HMRC were to back down on the individual cases presented.

We badly need funds! Any generous philanthropists out there?

If you want to help with the legal fund but don't have the money for a donation you can help in other ways. Fundraising ideas are welcome and we have a list of suggestions already.

What would be terrific though is members taking ideas forward themselves, any thing you can do to raise funds is welcome. If we all can raise a little each we'll be well on our way.

Remember this is YOUR campaign so it would be great for you to all be involved in raising the funds needed to ensure that we can all benefit by gaining a change in the law.

Stolen from the main website (You must be logged in to see this link.):

New Team Member 1 September 2008

We would like to welcome Lucy to the Tax Credit Casualties team, filling the volunteer role of Fundraising Officer that we have been advertising on the website for the past few months.

With five years experience of fundraising, Lucy has an impressive and successful track record. Apart from running her own business, Lucy is a mother to four children - whilst studying for both 'A' levels and a Degree!

Welcome to the team, Lucy!

We need to build up campaign funds for planned legal action! Donations are welcome here:

We don't need a lot from you, as we know how poor tax credits leave us! But as one supermarket says, 'every little helps!'

We have self-funded the campaign so far, be it postage costs, room hire or travel to meet with HMRC (fat waste of time) or politicians, but we need funds for the superb legal case we want to make...

And welcome aboard, Lucy.

If you want any evidence of why donations are so badly needed, look here:

You must be logged in to see this link.

So far, we have self-funded events, travel and meetings, etc., but legal action costs a tad more - even with pro bono lawyers!

Anyway, do visit the new 'Diary of the Damned' and add your contributions!
