Thanks for passing that on. Hopefully that will reduce the problem. I understand that it was a common tax credit error to give people a tax credit award based on the premise that they were going to be on a specific level of Disability Living Allowance, when this often was not the case. Claimants weren't specifically told the rules and hence had no way of checking. The greater accuracy of DLA payment processes tended also to inspire a similar faith in claimants that their tax credits were right, but the former is a non-means-tested award administered by the DWP and the latter means-tested and (mal)administered by HMRC.

Hi Katkin

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. So HMRC are now saying they have not got your new claim pack. My only advice is to re-send another but this time use recorded delivery, or hand deliver it yourself to your nearest Inland Revenue Enquiry Center and get a receipt from them, which should be date stamped.

Keep us updated

Hi Katkin

Great news, hopefully they will process it quickly now. There is no guarantee that you will be paid again on a Monday, with this being a new fresh claim. Monday is the usual day the system would opt for, so I think it will more than likely, pay you on a Monday.

Keep in touch
