Hi Missfoxee - have a look at this thread:
http://familytaxcredit.forumco.com/topic~TOPIC_ID~1288.asp
Also, you might want to contact the email address given by the News of The World/Martin Lewis as apparently this Consumers Champion has FINALLY managed to get Timid Timms from the Treasury to listen to tax credit victims. Take a look here:
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/columnists/martin_lewis/510110/Tax-credit-demand-time-is-herewhat-a-NIGHTMARE-Martin-Lewis.html?postingId=518446
...and here's the bit with the NOTW contact details:
"Sadly, some families call the helpline to report changes and are told they didn't need to - then later find they've been overpaid. I warned the Treasury Minister responsible Stephen Timms that this is happening and he wants to follow it up, so please let me know if it's happened to you at notw@moneysavingexpert.com "
Good luck!
Only by fighting back en masse and LETTING OUR MPS KNOW THEY WILL ONLY GET OUR VOTES IF THEY SORT THIS MESS OUT, will we get justice.
The time to sit back and hope the government will opt to improve matters of its own accord are well and truly over. They won't. As Alan says, they are more interested in lining their own pockets, and stuffing their noses ever deeper into the trough. If each of us contacted our MPs and newspapers to let them know exactly how this sham "benefit" blights people's lives, finally something would get done.
Sadly, there are plenty of people in the state you describe, so I hope you'll do your bit to help yourself, and others in the process.
Do have a look at the main site here: www.taxcc.org where you will find all the info you need, and our famous dispute pack which other mightier organisations than ourselves have used as a resource!
Morpheus: I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it. |

yes that was the article that I saw in the news of the world two sundays agO and the link didnt seem to work the notw@moneysupermarket.com ......... well I went to send off for a new claim form and got my son to call on my behalf as I am deaf and was told that I had to speak to them myself and my son persistently informed them that ,that was impossible as I cannot hear on the phone and they informed my son that I had to contact the RNID ........all this for a new claim form I am extremely angry and will be chasing this matter up on behalf of all deaf and hard of hearing people in regards to this abusive disability discimination, as the tax credits office refuses to help me in anyway I will also have a look at the links you sent and will keep this forum informed as to how my fight is going on

The HMRC website gives details of a different telephone number for 'textphone' if you have one:
quote: For customers who are deaf or hearing or speech impaired: 0845 300 3909 (Textphone)
A textphone allows you to type what you want to say rather than speaking into a mouthpiece. You can use a textphone instead of a voice telephone if you are deaf or have problems with your speech. It is not possible to speak to an adviser by phoning a textphone number.
Or if you wanted to authorise your son to speak on your behalf you could fill in the following form:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/tc689.pdf
They have to be careful about who they speak to because of Data Protection, but I can understand your frustration. |

Just a quick mention I also sent off a copy of your template to 4 MP's including Gordon Browny and also my overpayment dispute form BY recorded delivery this time so it should NOT get "lost in the post" this time
