Hello its me again, after a really tough time, I agreed to pay the overpayment that happened between the tax credit transition of changing over from single to joint claim. But this is where the fun starts again.

As of September 2008, I have been paying £10 a month to start clearing £2706.12. It will be paid back in full in 2031!!!! Anyway every month since I have had to ring hmrc up because they have been putting the figure on the joint claim overpayment and not the single claim!!!! I have set up 2 direct debits to sort this out, 1 after the other, then I have had to cancel each one because it has not been clearing the single claim. I then had to set up by paying by paying in slip for this to cause problems!!!! I have now started another direct debit to hopefully to do it properly this time but this morning I received a letter to say that I was £10 in arrears!!! where did this come from??!!!!
Have rung them to be told this time that it could be because a portion of what I have paid has gone on the joint claim!!! Not my fault, they have evidence on comp that I have rung each time, and had to speak to all different offices, departments etc to sort this out. The guy told me this morning that the single claim and joint claim are separate and that what I'm paying should be clearing the joint claim!!!NO ITS NOT,WHY DO YOU THINK I KEEP RINGING. He reckons the letter is standard and to just keep paying the £10 a month as normal.
So what do i do if they decide to write and tell me that they are cancelling the way i'm paying for it and want it in full??!!!!!
I can't afford it and it's not my fault that they are not paying it in to the right account surely??I have kept phoning and every time I speak to someone they say that they can see I have rung on numerous occasions. I'm going to write a letter of complaint, not that it will get me anywhere but it's worth a go.

Stop paying

Don't pay them a single penny until you've got your MP to sort it for you.

COMPLAIN to the idiot Brown and to his Darling chancellor.

Let the media know about this fiasco & tell them that you've written to Brown & darling & have had no reply from them (because I'm sure that they won't reply!!) but it's all grist to the mill.

Send a copy of your complaint to the Queen. HMRC stands for Her Majesteys Revenue & Customs. Ask her if she's happy with the way HER department is treating HER subjects, and ask her to call Brown into her office & tell him to call an election ASAP.

REMEMBER; Shy bairns get 'nowt.

reductions. In this way the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed."
