Just had word from my MP's office along with a fax to say that we DO NOT have to repay £2484.51. I'm still to check if there are any other outstanding amounts,as this was for 2003 - 2004 but we don't need to repay this as TCO "did not meet all our responsibilities" We are also getting a payment of £100.
Will post more when I've calmed down a bit and checked stuff out.
My fighting this all came about through a chance encounter with this website. I downloaded the dispute pack and it all went from there. The people who post on here have been fantastic, and when there were times I wanted to give in, they've kept me going and wanting to fight. I have suggested this site to lots of friends who are having problems....There may still be a bit of "fighting" to do but I know now that with the help and encouragement of everyone here I can do it. I may be able to start doing normal things again shortly, like reading a book instead of paperwork and get back to my hobby of script writing rather than letter writing.
Thanks everyone...I'll keep you informed

That's brilliant news, Smudge! Hope that everything continues to go well.

Thanks for spreading the word, too. There are millions out there who don't know we exist ....

Hi Smudge.

Congratulations & well done !!

Many thanks for your kind words regarding us - it does make me feel it's worth the effort - and thanks too for spreading the word.

Yours is another battle won, but the war is still continuing. We need more & more people out there to know about the disgrace that is the Tax Credits "system" and that we are here to help & support anyone who has become a victim of it.

Please stay in touch to lend some moral support - if nothing else - the the rest of the lads & lasses.

Thank you.

I rang the helpline on Saturday, as we had a payment made into our bank. She checked everything and confirmed we no longer owe TCO ANY repayments and the money paid in is ours to keep...I made her check that part three times. We will be getting a letter of confirmation from the overpayments dispute team. When that happens then Imay believe it is all over!!!!
