Sorry I didn't get a chance to thank you for this kind post before it got "buried" with further posts and the horror stories of other new members!
So glad that we've been able to help and that you are fighting this. Everyone who fights and wins is not just helping themselves, but voting for a change to the "system". Sadly, giving in - which I can understand as HMRC are great at grinding innocent people down - just serves to prop it up. HMRC and the government don't think, "we should change this system as an innocent person has just felt obliged to pay up when they can't afford it", but just put our acquiescence down to our being wrong and accepting it!
So I rejoice when people fight back - firstly for the boost it gives them to feel finally in control of the situation and able to speak up for themselves. But also for how it helps us all to work towards a more just, safe and fair system one day.
Thanks - and good luck, Lindy! Believe in yourself, remain determined, and you will eventually win.
So far, the only people I have seen lose are those who gave up. I have even seen people win after court action and a sneaky CCJ! So it can be done.
