HMRC are chasing me for an overpayment claiming I did not inform them of any changes when in fact I even called and spoke to them from the Job Centre after being made reduntant and was told then that my information was not correct, even after contacting them previously. I completed my dispute form before I was aware this group existed so probably missed some important details but now I am following your advice and hopefully will come up with good results. Also me and my boyfriend have discussed moving in together but im too scared to incase this involves me getting yet more overpayments because I really havn't a clue how this stupid process works, if I move in with my partner before my claim is renewed will they just back date it and try to claim yet more money.

Anyway, I am in the early stages of my dispute, have claimed my data but nothing yet, so I am currently unable to write a case history but have written to them as suggested.

If you do move in with your boy friend you must immediately let Tax Credits know. Your present single claim will end & you will have to start a new couple claim with your partner. Make absolutely sure that you get the name of the person you speak to to give this information. Keep a note of it, & the date & time of your call & a summary of what was said. Then make sure you get (within 7 - 10 days) a notification of the change. If you do not, chase them up. Do not leave it.

The dispute about the alleged overpayment on your single claim will progress as a separate matter, & will not affect payments under the new couple claim.
