I recieved an ammended tax credit award for this tax year, it said that Ihad received too much tax credit,in excess of £2k and that they will be reducing my payments and collecting the overpayment from the next tax year. My earnings for this tax year were lower than what they were estimated on , so I confused where they got this figure from. It appears also that they had my previous employers name on thier records, which I told them to correct, but even though the employer changed, the income received from them remained the same during that tax yearand it was finalised. Please can you tell me which department I should write to, to dispute this. Ihave allready rang the helpline , but they give me different addresses. Should I fill in a TC846 and adress it to the overpayments dispute team or should Iwrite a letter to the complaints manager. thanks for your help

Hi Charlie and Welcome aboard Gordon Brown's Flagship SS Tax Credits !

You ask; "Should I fill in a TC846 and adress it to the overpayments dispute team or should Iwrite a letter to the complaints manager."

Can I ask how much you are prepared to do in order to not only try to resolve YOUR Tax Credits problem, but also the problems of all the other folk here, and the many more who have alleged overpayments but don't yet know about us.

For example; are you prepared to sign a petition? Are you prepared to download some flyers & posters then print them & distribute them? Are you prepared to talk to your family, friends & neighbours about our happy band here? Are you prepared to write to your MP? Will you write to the designer of this fiasco - Gordon Brown himself? Tax Credits are run by Her Majaety's Revenue & Customs. Would you be prepared to write to Her Majesty The Queen to complain about what you are suffering at the hands of HER organisation? Would you be willing to talk to the media - local newspapers, TV & radio? Would you be interested in an unpaid job with us? Would you consider making a small donation to our Fighting Fund?

If you can honestly answer "yes" to any of these questions, then please visit our Main Site here http://www.taxcc.org/ where you'll find out how to get involved in all of these things - as well as how to fight your case.

There are people here (I'm one of them) who have taken-on HMRC and WON, but it hasn't been easy. It involves a lot of serious hard work and - in my case at least - some dirty tricks, but it is possible that if you have the intestinal fortitude and aren't afraid of getting stuck in, you can win too.

"The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible
reductions. In this way the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed."
