Thanks to Paula and all who have created and maintained this site. Thanks to this site I did not accept WFTC statement that I had no right of appeal against the demand for repayment of £4850. I requested my data and also answer to why I was not issued with an award notice at end of 2006 when the problem occurred. As a result I have been told my case is closed and no more monies outstanding so there is light at end of the long tunnel.
Thanks for that Jane & Best Wishes for 2009 from all of us here. What a great way to start the New Year!!
Your story is yet another example to us all that those who stand up to these jacked-up playground bullies can - and will win!!
Very well done!
"The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed."
Hi Jane - fantastic news! It's good of you to post your success here so that others can be heartened and inspired by it. Having taken that bold step, would you like to hang around and stay with us? All three of us on this thread have won our own cases but are fighting on in hopes that others will get a similar outcome and the justice they deserve, so this isn't just a club for those thrown into unexpected, undeserved debt and struggling to fight their way out of it. It is for everyone sympathetic to the idea that the innocent should not be held to account for Treasury mistakes. I do hope you can stick around now that you've got the hang of joining and posting. I am expecting lots of great things to happen in 2009 as this campaign continues to grow, and all our members here can be an active part of that.
Well done for your win, Jane, and a Happy 2009!
