Hi all,
Quick question about subject access requests and joint claims - do I need to officially requests informations for both of us, quoting both our NI numbers?
Reason I ask is that I'm after some phone calls that my wife made - so far only I havr requested my data - in order to (in theory - I know how difficult it is!) - get a CD of these calls - would I have to put in a request for my wife's data as well (even though all the printouts would no doubt be the same)
Thanks ReynardTheFox

Hi ReynardTheFox! To be honest, I don't know - although if your wife were to write requesting her own SARN details the 'naughty' side of me is thinking - more work for HMRC! And you might just double your chances of the crucial calls and papers being included. I am thinking this is a joint claim, yes? Well, it would be interesting to see if two separate requests produce an exact duplicate of paperwork and calls, a different array, further details, or whether the same evidence - incriminating to HMRC - gets withhbeld in each case!
Do you want to give it a try? It is only a separate stamp. It would be interesting to hear what this additional request yields!
Trinity: No one has ever done anything like this. Neo: That's why it's going to work.

I agree with Ali here (I'm too scared of her to disagree!)
Give HMRC extra work to do and see what happens. I'm thinking if we give them enough rope they'll hang themselves with it!!!
No nurse, I said "Are my test results back?" NOT "Are my testicles black?" .. but thanks anyway!! |

I think one request with both national insurance numbers will suffice. If you are after phone calls from your wife it can help if you give the phone number they originated from and point out the NINo of the person making them.

I guess I should have done that in the first place, but for some reason I only used my NI number.
I'll send off another request I guess.
Thanks all for your replies.
