Hi all. Those of you who read my posts back in the summer may remember that the letters regarding alledged overpayments from HMRC were coming at a time when I was pregnant. Once that issue was resolved the rest of my pregnancy was much less fraught.

I can now happily announce that baby Jack was born at home, as planned, on September 13th (a week early). Being a practical sort I and my partner went and did the shopping that morning (people have to eat!) as I timed my mild contractions and realised that they were about 3 mins apart. That was an interesting shopping trip to say the least. Being fully practical once we got home I let the man put the shopping away whilst I had a sandwich and a cuppa and only let him phone the midwife once I'd changed the bed-sheets and was in the bath easing my back.

Little daughter is still a bit miffed that we didn't call him Gordon.....

Congratulations, Willow, on having a lovely new baby, Jack. I'm most glad to didn't succumb to pressure from your daughter to call him Gordon, rather akin to naming him Lord Voldemort... I am sure that when she is a bit older and has seen politics in action she will be deeply relieved that you didn't listen to her!

It really, truly is.

Thanks all for your well wishes. Jack has been added to the claim and other two children also still appear to be there....in fact when I asked the helpline operator to make sure that she hadn't just accidentally wiped them off she reassured me with a very kindly, "Oh no, that would never happen...." Hmmmm......
