GMTV is after stories from people whose tax credits have turned into nightmare debts:

GMTV has also approached Tax Credit Casualties in a more formal way, but we've tended to find that the show is a bit "fickle" and liable to drop volunteers at the last minute if another more "newsworthy" story comes along, so we have had to decline (not for the first time).
Adverts for volunteers seem to abound, however - so if time is no object to you, and being picked up/dropped less important that the chance to speak out on TV, you might be interested.
Just be aware that filming doesn't always go ahead, and you may be under tight time constraints even if it does - although I suppose there is always the possibility of better coverage if all goes to plan.
On an individual basis, adverse publicity for HMRC can result in them paying greater attention to your dispute and writing off an overpayment. So the choice is yours.
Good luck to anyone volunteering - but no-one I know is rushing to book a day off work in case all goes well.
