Okay, I can see our Webmaster onto a winner here, and taking a leaf out of HMRC's book to bend all the rules, I am adding a little verse to PJ and my entry number one, which goes as follows:

Christmas time is coming –
The PM’s not forgotten
That tax credit overpayments
Have made our Yuletide rotten

He’s seen the pain that he has caused
With clawing back of payments,
And heard our Amnesty appeal
For non-fault overpayments

To stop Tax Credit Casualties
From kicking up a fuss
He’s dropped a “little something”
For every one of us!

Competitive? Me???

(colour changed and typo corrected!)

And here's a verse for PJ's chilling card 2:

Scrooge was a cold-hearted, tight fisted geezer,
Immune to his poor worker's plight.
Three ghosts came to visit the mean Ebenezer,
Plucked his heartstrings and gave him a fright.
His disgust for the poor and promotion of greed
Made him hated throughout London town,
But he ended up helping the people in need.
Inspiration for Darling and Brown?

So don’t pick our pockets and commit ursury
For tax credit Justice is an Amnesty!

Ali,

In the interests of fair play (not something the government is aware of I know) you need to write a verse for the third card!

It wasn't written by me, so I can't take credit for it! (Quite the poet, our Webmaster, isn't he?)

sorry for the delay, (not been well )

heres the printable version of the winning card. if you can get it on the post on Monday it should be received at number 10 in time

to print it, left click over the card, and choose [save] to your desktop, then print on to A4 paper. its a 'tent fold' design so fold in half (top to bottom), and half again (left to right). the tree should appear on the outside and the verse in side.

Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling shoud have received their Christmas cards by now. I wonder if these made the mantlepiece or have been forwarded to some miscreant at HMRC as our letters and suggestions usually are?

Second year running that Brown has been depicted as a Scrooge! It was by us last year!
