Hi
Will try to keep this brief. We have claimed Tax Credits since it started and have been overpaid many times. We have made numerous appeals. Finally we found this site and have now involved our MP. They suggested we should complete yet another TC846, a timeline of work and all our P60's and they would then fax everything through to the "MP's helpline staff" who would review all our details. I did all this mid march. Having heard nothing I contacted our MP's office again at the end of April to say we had heard nothing still. They said they were not surprised due to the huge number of overpayments. Can anyone tell me roughly how long they take, when we appealed before it only took a couple of weeks each time to get a bog standard you still owe reply. Really wish I'd never heard of Tax Credits.
Thankyou

It just occurred to me that it'd be really good to get some kind of key developed for interpreting this SARN data... perhaps a little Project Team for anyone who has found theirs a doddle and feels like enlightening those of us who go into a blue funk when faced with page after page of coded documentation?

Volunteers? Come on, I know there's loads of you out there who have worked out incredible things from your tower of paperwork...!

Trinity: The answer is out there… and it's looking for you, and it will find you if you want it to.

Thanks Robert
Will try to be more patient. Have received the Sarn documentation, about six inches thick, just getting up the energy to go through it all.

Hi sturgeon...

your appeal could be done in 6 weeks...with the usual it is all your fault, crap that everyone gets from the HMRC. i would suggest you could be in for a long wait perhaps 3 months or more..

its time to wait, and look into the overpayment yourself..have you got your sarn doccumentation ??? all free.. go to the home page link at the top.. it is amazing what errors are made, and can be uncovered..the doccuments should take 40 days to arrive.. if not complain about it..

others will along to give advice.
